Jersey Rugby Football Club is delighted to announce ORA will become joint main sponsors of the Club for the 2013/14 campaign alongside continued support from the Economic Development Department.
The sponsorship from Economic Development, which is aligned with Jersey Tourism and Locate Jersey’s marketing strategies, has proved a huge success and helped pave the way for the new three-way partnership between new front-of-shirt sponsors ORA, Jersey.com and the rugby club.
The new sponsorship will enable the Islanders to remain competitive in the Greene King IPA Championship this coming season.
Senator Alan Maclean commented: “Our sponsorship of the JRFC is providing us with an excellent opportunity to attract visitors and business to the island, and I am delighted that we are maintaining the same level of support this season. Last year, visiting teams brought thousands of fans with them to Jersey over the course of the season, all of whom spent money in hotels and visited restaurants and attractions. In addition, we have had the opportunity to reach business leaders and entrepreneurs across the UK. The Economic Development Department is delighted that our continued support has encouraged businesses to sponsor JRFC.”
The new first and alternative shirts were launched at the Team Photoshoot at Corbiere Lighthouse on Wednesday and include not just main sponsors ORA and Jersey.com, but renewing shirt sponsors Dandara, Avis, Randalls, Style Group, Santander and kit manufacturers Kukri. There are two new additions to the shirts with the new Greene King IPA Championship logo emblazoned on the left arm, whilst another new partnership of JRFC in Hangar8 come on board underneath the collar.
Locate Jersey will occupy the rear of the right leg on the newly designed Jersey RFC shorts, whilst Hangar8 will be displayed on the rear of the left leg as the perfect balance to bring business to the island, emphasising not just the growth of the rugby club, but the presence the Club is having in the wider market.
Speaking at the launch, Club Chairman Bill Dempsey said: “The whole Club is thrilled by the support of the community and is looking forward to welcoming ORA on board. We must also thank Economic Development and the respective teams at Locate Jersey and Jersey Tourism for their continued commitment to what is proving to be a successful partnership in increasing the profile of sport locally and of Jersey in the UK and beyond.
“Working together has proved a great success, not only for the rugby club, but for the island as a whole. We are proud to represent Jersey and can’t wait for the new season to kick off with our visit of Leicester Tigers to St. Peter on Saturday 24 August.”
