Local Angel gives DOT TV MEDIA a boost

Date
30 September 2010

Jersey Enterprise and Envestors Jersey are celebrating the news that local business DOTTVMEDIA Limited has secured £150,000 investment from a local ‘Angel’ through the Jersey Business Angels Network (JBAN).  The funds will enable the company to commence roll-out of its aggressive growth strategy which, if successful, will achieve forecast revenues exceeding £1.7m in the first three years of trading.  The company is set to formally launch to the market in the first quarter of 2011.

This is the first successful ‘all local’ deal to be secured by a company that has completed the JBAN ‘Investment Preparation Programme’, which culminated in the company presenting at JBAN’s first networking event in Jersey in February 2010 and later in London in May 2010.  Envestors, who were appointed by Jersey Enterprise to run JBAN, prepare suitable businesses for pitching to local investors.  They are currently in the process of working with several local businesses and are confident similar investments can be secured in the coming months.

DOTTVMEDIA enables businesses to profit from the insatiable demand for online video providing fully hosted ‘build your own' video website tools and customised video websites. Many firms want to use customised online video to gain the leading edge in Google searches, and have discovered that YouTube does not provide the solution for own branding and revenue generation. The company has solved this with the development of affordable, hosted video software platforms for consumer to consumer, business to consumer and business to business markets.

Envestors is planning to hold its third major event in Jersey on the evening of Tuesday 16th November.  At least three local companies are currently preparing to present to local investors and all are keen to emulate the success of DOT TV MEDIA.  It isn’t too late for interested companies to get involved in the Investment Preparation Programme which starts at the end of this month, in order to be ‘Fit for Funding’ by the November event.  Local investors are also being encouraged to become a member of the JBAN in order to gain access to the many local investment and international opportunities that are going to be presented in the coming months.
