Locate Jersey’s Marketing and Events Manager, Susie Galvin, looks back at Locate Jersey’s 2017 flagship event.

“Our annual ‘Jersey Day’ showcase in London last month proved to be yet another fantastic success.

The turnout of more than 100 guests at the ‘Jersey. For business. For Life’ lunchtime event, including UK policy makers, intermediaries and senior executives from a broad range of business sectors, underlined the level of sustained interest there is in Jersey as a place that can help support the global growth aspirations of businesses and the professionals that run them.

Partnering with Jersey Finance, Digital Jersey, Visit Jersey and other government departments as well as Jersey intermediaries gave us a really strong platform to showcase what Jersey can offer.

It was also great to be able to present guests with a lunch featuring a range of Genuine Jersey produce from a number of local producers, including seafood and sea vegetables, potatoes, dairy products and other locally grown fruit and vegetables. A big thanks to those producers, as well as our co-sponsors for the lunch event, Investec Private Banking Jersey, Ogier (Jersey) and Smith & Williamson (Channel Islands), for helping to bring a taste of Jersey to London.

We are focused on creating an environment that is attractive for both businesses and individuals to relocate to and this flagship event gave us a hugely valuable opportunity to demonstrate what Jersey can offer in that respect.

Last year alone, we received enquiries from more than 250 businesses and individuals looking to relocate to Jersey, and the signs from this year’s Jersey Day are that that level of interest is set to rise – Jersey is on the radar of a growing number of executives who are looking for a stable, innovative and progressive centre for their international enterprises.

When we talk about ‘Jersey. For business. For life’, we really do mean it, and the response we’ve had from this year’s Jersey Day demonstrates that more and more innovative businesses and business principals are keen to be part of that Jersey experience.”
