A trade delegation led by the Economic Development Minister, Senator Alan Maclean and Senator Freddie Cohen, Assistant Chief Minister, UK and International relations, are visiting Israel at the end of May as part of ongoing efforts to promote trade and investment into Jersey.

The visit is as a result of a strategic partnership formed between the States of Jersey and UK Israel Business, an organisation which encourages trade, industry and investment between Israel and the UK, and now also Jersey.  The partnership will work closely with Jersey Enterprise and aims to promote Jersey to members of UK Israel Business in both Israel and the UK, and will present Israeli firms expanding into Europe with Jersey as an alternative option for basing their operation.

The delegation will also include Mike King, the Chief Officer of Economic Development, Wayne Gallichan, the Director of Inward Investment and International Trade at Jersey Enterprise, Tom Walker, Director of International Affairs and Geoff Cook the Chief Executive of Jersey Finance and will focus on developing and diversifying the Island’s economy in 3 key areas of Financial Services, Clean Technology and E-gaming.

The visit will include meetings with representatives from the Israeli Finance and Environment Ministries, the British Ambassador to Israel, the Mayor of Jerusalem the Governor of the Bank of Isreal, the CEO of the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange along with numerous Cleantech and e-gaming businesses and the group intend to make it clear the Jersey is very much “Open for Business”.
