Get in Touch with Locate Jersey

Firstly, we recommend you contact Locate Jersey for a confidential, no-obligation discussion about moving to Jersey. Head of High Value Residency, Dirk Danino-Forsyth is on hand to help. He can be contacted via email at d.daninoforsyth@gov.je

Alternatively, you can contact us through your intermediary – but this should be done at the beginning of the process to support you with the best advice possible.

Ultimately, all applications are vetted and cleared by Locate Jersey, the Comptroller of Revenue, and the Population Office before going to the Ministers who make the final decision.

These Ministers form the Housing and Work Advisory Group (HAWAG) which meet monthly. Locate Jersey’s role is to advise ministers to accept or decline your application, based on whether you meet the minimum tax threshold and how you could benefit Jersey socially and economically.

Early coordination with Locate Jersey leads to this process being much quicker and simpler.

If you would like to know more about the criteria for the HVR programme, please see The Criteria for High Value Residency.

Appointing a professional advisor

The guide to writing your application can be found in the document library (Document Library | Locate Jersey) and you can submit this application yourself.

Nevertheless, many clients choose to apply through an intermediary. Locate Jersey has a list of intermediaries (tax advisors and lawyers) who regularly submit applications or advise applicants, and this can be shared with you, for use amongst your own research.

If you have already appointed an intermediary, you should still contact Locate Jersey.

3

Submitting Your Application

Once you’re happy Jersey is the right place for you, and you are confident you meet the requirements, you should submit your application.

If you have appointed an intermediary, they will do this on your behalf. This should be done in the first few working days of the calendar month.

Jersey is looking for successful people, who have both underlying wealth and a high annual income. Part of the application should also include your potential social and economic benefit to Jersey. You can receive advice on this from your intermediary or Locate Jersey.

To find out what information is required in your application, please see What Information is Required in your HVR Application.

4

Approval Process

Once Locate Jersey receives your application, it will usually take no more than 15 working for you to receive the decision (this is normally within the same calendar month).

In this time, due diligence will be performed, your application will be checked by the Comptroller of Revenue and the Population Office and any references or commitments will be checked.

5

Confirmation

Once Ministers have met (usually in the third week of the month), Locate Jersey will then send you confirmation of the decision.

If approved, applicants are required to pay a fee of £10,506.25*, instructions on how to pay this fee are detailed in the confirmation letter.

*This fee is subject to annual review and may change. Information correct as of 01 January 2026
