Locate Jersey’s connections with China have opened up a new online market for beauty and cosmetics retailer feelunique, with the launch of a new dedicated online presence.

feelunique’s new official Chinese site (http://cn.feelunique.com) was launched recently following an introduction made by Locate Jersey to leading Chinese e-commerce firm, Azoya, a business that specialises in supporting international retailers selling into China.  Azoya have also created a second platform which provides a dedicated online outlet www.haituncun.com,  a cross-border shopping site for Chinese consumers.

Earlier this year, feelunique were introduced to Shenzhen-based Azoya co-founder Don Zhao through a visit to Jersey initiated by Locate Jersey’s Project Manager in Beijing, Nora Zhang. Azoya are now also working with feelunique to promote its retail image and products to the Chinese market.

Wayne Gallichan, Inward Investment Director at Locate Jersey, said: “I was delighted that, through Nora’s initiative, we were able to coordinate a visit to Jersey for Azoya to facilitate a range of discussions for local businesses, which has resulted in a very positive outcome for feelunique. We are continuing to work hard to bring Jersey businesses closer to what is undoubtedly a huge Chinese market and this latest development is evidence of the considerable opportunities there are now for Jersey online businesses in China.”

Don Zhao, co-founder of Azoya, added: “We believe the launch of feelunique’s Chinese website will help to open up the China market and introduce it to more and more Chinese customers. More widely we are also looking forward to building stronger relationships with online Jersey businesses who are interested in China through Locate Jersey in the future.”

Jim Buckle, Chief Operating Officer, feelunique, added: “Having the opportunity to explore opportunities in a market that offers real potential was highly valuable to us, and we are grateful to Locate Jersey for bringing us together with Azoya. The launch of our new Chinese online platform is an exciting step for us as we look to build a new profile in China, cement our position as the largest online retailer of premium beauty products in Europe and one of the fastest growing e-tailers in the world.”
